Most illness is everyday illness - fever, flu, a stomach that will not settle. The general OPD is the hospital's front door: walk in, take a token, and see a doctor the same day, morning or evening.

Medical officers see general patients daily, with the laboratory, X-ray and pharmacy a corridor away, so a consultation, a test and the medicines all happen in one visit. Anything needing a specialist is referred within the hospital the same day.
